Crossroads Caring Scotland's Response to Scottish Government Announcement on Living Wage for Overnight Support
Yesterday, the Health Secretary Shona Robison announced that the Scottish Government plans to guarantee workers the Living Wage for overnight hours.
Care workers will be paid the Living Wage of £8.45 for sleepover hours, meaning the Living Wage will now be received for all hours worked.
The change is planned for 2018/19.
Crossroads Caring is a member of the Coalition of Care and Support Providers (CCPS), whose membership comprises over 80 of the largest care providers in Scotland's third sector.

Crossroads Caring Scotland fully supports the CCPS on this matter and shares its concerns that the implications of implementation have not been fully considered.
